Outlandish Press
Established in a basement in August 2017, Kyle J. Osborne had started collecting print equipment several months before, after the closing of Guide to Kulchur’s print shop in the Gordon Square area of Cleveland, OH where he learned to make books. He worked at Mahall’s 20 Lanes while slowly accumulating the means of print production, helping launch a short lived free monthly newspaper called Sleeper Service. Being immersed in arts of all mediums but becoming increasingly disillusioned by bar culture he decided to move the print shop to a store front, not only more spacious for printing and publishing, but to have a space to host events of all kinds including music, poetry, book releases, and workshops.
Eventually approached by Kat Cade to help run her book fair: Imprint Arts & Zine Fest the success of various programing between the two led Outlandish Press to move into a larger storefront run by Imprint Arts Collective. A group of people with similar and individual goals including Empress Editions, Working Table Studios, Olde E Oil Change, and It’s a Jinx Records.
Outlandish Press prints books in small and large runs with the goal of providing quality products at an affordable price for up-and-coming and veteran artists alike. Outlandish Press also publishes books by artists all over the country curated by Zenaida Smith and Kyle J. Osborne.
